Parrish vs. Lakewood Ranch: Which Florida Community Fits You?

If you're considering moving to the Sarasota-Manatee area, two names you'll likely encounter are Parrish and Lakewood Ranch.

We often hear buyers ask:

“Which one is better?”

There's no universal answer.

The better question is which area fits your lifestyle, housing needs, budget, and priorities.

Why Buyers Consider Parrish

Parrish has experienced significant residential growth and offers numerous newer communities and new-construction options.

Buyers may find a variety of single-family homes, community amenities, and floor plans from multiple builders.

For buyers who want newer housing and are comfortable living in a rapidly developing area, Parrish may deserve a closer look.

Why Buyers Consider Lakewood Ranch

Lakewood Ranch is a large master-planned community with numerous villages and housing options.

Shopping, dining, recreation, community events, and other amenities are integrated throughout the area.

Because Lakewood Ranch is so large, buyers should evaluate individual villages rather than treating the entire area as one neighborhood.

Compare the Costs

Don't compare communities based solely on purchase price.

Look at:

• HOA fees

• CDD assessments

• Property taxes

• Insurance

• Home age and maintenance

• Amenities

• Commute and everyday driving

Which One Should You Choose?

That answer depends on you.

Some buyers may prefer Parrish. Others may prefer Lakewood Ranch. And after exploring both, you may discover that another nearby community fits you better.

The goal isn't to choose the community everyone else likes.

It's to find the community that works for your household and lifestyle.
